Rule updates are worth publishing only when they change a fishing decision. This section is reserved for material changes to licence prices, district coverage, regional notices, closures, or official guidance that affects what anglers should do before fishing.

Updates with official checks

This section covers meaningful rule and fee updates after official sources have been checked. The site should not publish a new update article just because a small wording change exists on an official page.

Good update candidates include a new Fish & Game season price table, a DOC Taupo fee change, a material change to Taupo district rules, a regional Anglers' Notice change that affects trip planning, or a public closure that changes where anglers can fish.

When an update is published, it should explain what changed, who is affected, which official source supports the change, what existing guide pages were updated, and what anglers should verify before fishing.

What an update should do

Good update coverage should make an angler safer and better informed, not simply announce that a page changed. Every update should connect the official change to the licence or rule decision it affects.
