The current Wellington regulations do not identify the Ruamāhanga as a Designated Water. Do not import the Upper Rangitīkei licence stack into this river.

State Highway 2 is the exact-water boundary to resolve before the fishing day. It changes the open season, authorised methods, and daily bag.
